Many properties in this guide include age-restricted floors beside ordinary guest rooms. This page explains how we treat those areas, and where personal judgement — not our copy — should lead.
Age-restricted areas
Across the properties described in this guide, age-restricted floors often sit apart from guest corridors. They may occupy a dedicated wing, a lower level or a sealed suite of rooms reached through a separate entrance. That separation is deliberate: overnight guests who never enter those areas can still use lobbies, restaurants and room floors without crossing a threshold they did not choose.
Where a casino or similar amenity exists, it is usually governed by local licensing and by the operator's own access rules. Identification checks, hours of operation and dress expectations belong to the property, not to this site. Our entries note the presence of such facilities only as part of describing how the campus is organised.
Readers should not assume that every building on a resort campus is open to every guest. Staffed doors, membership desks and time-based closures are common. If a stay includes travelling companions under the local age of majority, plan the day around the areas that remain open to the whole party.
Nothing on this page replaces the signage you will meet on site. The layout of each property can change after renovations, and temporary barriers during events are ordinary. Treat our descriptions as orientation, then follow the instructions posted at the door.
Why this guide treats an age-restricted floor as one amenity among many rather than the headline
Retreat Spa Zone is written as a hospitality guide. Rooms, setting, dining and surroundings carry equal weight in every entry. An age-restricted floor may be part of that picture, yet it is not the reason a property appears here, and it is never presented as the main reason to visit.
Leading with gaming language would distort the reading of places that also function as ordinary hotels and resorts. Many travellers use these campuses for conferences, family gatherings or quiet weekends beside water or mountains. Keeping the tone even lets those reasons sit beside one another without sales pressure.
We also avoid ranking properties by the size of a gaming floor or by how prominently it is marketed elsewhere. Star class, city and setting tags already give enough structure for comparison. Adding promotional emphasis would pull the guide away from its independent role.
If you arrived looking only for age-restricted entertainment, the official listing for each property remains the better place for that detail. Our job is to describe the stay as a whole, then hand you across.
Personal limits belong to the visitor — what this site does and does not advise
This site does not advise anyone to gamble, drink or stay late on an age-restricted floor. It does not set spending limits, suggest strategies or frame those amenities as goals. Personal limits — time, money, sobriety, sleep — belong entirely to the visitor and to anyone travelling with them.
What we do offer is clarity about how properties are organised, so you can decide which parts of a campus fit your plans. If an amenity is not relevant to your visit, you can ignore it without missing the rest of the description. If it is relevant, the property's own rules and tools are the ones that apply once you are on site.

Where to find each property's own rules, which are always the ones that apply
Every catalog card ends with a link labelled "View the Listing". That link opens the property's official listing page, operated by a third party. House rules, access ages, identification policies and any responsible-gaming notices live there — or on the operator's own website linked from that listing.
Local law can differ from province to province. What is permitted in one city may be restricted in another. This guide does not summarise statutes and does not certify that a property is compliant on any given day. The operator and the listing page are the authorities.
When policies conflict with something you read here, trust the property. Facilities close, age thresholds change and temporary events rearrange floors. Our independence notice appears on every page for this reason: we are not the hotel, and we do not speak for it.
